Project summary

Salt City Market (SCM) is a mixed-use, multicultural community center in downtown Syracuse, NY. Sponsored by the Allyn Family Foundation and run by the non-profit Syracuse Urban Partnership (SYRUP), this project has transformed a vacant lot into a vibrant retail, office, and housing development. SCM features a 24,000 square feet public market, teaching kitchem, and grocery store on the first floor, not-for-profit office space on the second floor, and mixed-income housing on the third and fourth floors. SCM has a mission of connecting different cultures and people in a welcoming, inclusive gathering space that promotes health and wellness, economic opportunity, collaboration, and a deep sense of community.
